Happy Girl is an amazingly talented Border Collie, who lives for nothing more than to play Frisbee every waking minute of her life. She is a very brilliant, loving, intense, and hard working dog. She got her name because of her disposition. She loves everyone, and when she meets people, her whole body is wagging and excited to see them. We feel blessed beyond all extremes for having her in our lives and home.

Happy's Story:
"Happy Girl, The Homeless Dog" was found wondering the streets of Ortega Forest, a suburb of Jacksonville, FL, in March of 2000. She was observed wandering from home to home, in and out of Stockton Elementary School, playing with different groups of children, and eating whatever people would hand out to her. Finally, after about 3.5 months, a family called us and told us about this dog that they felt very sorry for; and was there something we might be able to do to help.
We evaluated Happy and found her to be completely emaciated; also, she had kennel cough so severe that she spewed foam & blood every where each time she coughed; her coat was very thin, even to the point of missing in places; and her tail was almost completely naked. The vet told us she was close to dying, and would have done so if not for her being rescued. Happy Girl participated in her first demo in June of 2000. She started performing as part of the Purina Dog Chow Incredible Dog Team in August 2000. So far, she has done shows at Disney World's Celebration; St. Augustine's "Summer Sizzler"; Six Flags Over Georgia Amusement Park; the Waldbaums' Hot Air Balloon & Music Festival, Long Island, NY; Charlotte, NC's 2000 Humane Society Walk-A-Thon; Savannah, GA's 2000, 2001 & 2002 Earth Day Celebration; America's Family Pet Expo 2000 at Cal Expo in Sacramento, CA; Philadelphia Kennel Club's Annual Show at the PA State Convention Center in Philadelphia (2001 & 2002); Miami's "Cali Ocho" Festival; The Blue Crab Festival; and the 2000 Florida State Fair, 2001 Indiana State Fair, 2002 West Virginia State Fair, 2002 New Mexico State Fair, & 2002 North Carolina State Fair. Happy has also toured in Venezuela, where she appeared on the largest Latin TV Show "Sabado Sensational"; and in Mexico, in May of 2001; and made a return trip in March of 2002.
